The Clever Monkey and the Crocodile

The Clever Monkey and the Crocodile (India): Teaches the importance of wit and cunning in tricky situations.

Once upon a time, in the lush forests of India, there lived a clever monkey named Kapi. He was known for his wit and intelligence and was loved by all the animals in the forest.
One day, while Kapi was swinging from tree to tree, he met a crocodile named Karan. Karan was friendly and soon struck up a conversation with Kapi. They talked for hours and became good friends.
As days went by, Karan started visiting Kapi regularly. Kapi, being the smart one, realized that Karan was up to something. He thought of a plan to find out what was bothering his friend.
One day, Kapi asked Karan why he had been visiting him so often. Karan replied, “I have a wife who is very sick, and I have been searching for some fruit that can cure her. I heard that there is a tree on an island in the middle of the river that has the fruit. But I cannot swim that far. Can you help me?”
Kapi knew that Karan was lying, but he didn’t want to hurt his friend’s feelings. He agreed to help and hopped on Karan’s back to cross the river.
As they were crossing the river, Karan revealed his true intentions. He had planned to eat Kapi’s heart and liver as a gift for his wife. Kapi was terrified and quickly thought of a plan to save himself.
He told Karan that he had left his heart and liver on the tree and that they needed to go back to get it. Karan, being naive, believed him and turned back.
As soon as they reached the shore, Kapi jumped off Karan’s back and climbed up a tree. Karan was furious and realized that he had been tricked. He tried to climb the tree, but Kapi was too fast for him.
Kapi laughed and said, “You may be strong, but I am clever. You should never underestimate the power of wit and intelligence.”
From that day on, Karan never tried to harm Kapi again and learned to respect his intelligence and cunning nature.
