The Cunning Snake
The Cunning Snake
Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a cunning snake. The snake was known for its slyness and trickery. The other animals in the forest were always wary of the snake and tried to avoid it as much as possible.
One day, the snake came across a group of rabbits who were playing in the forest. The snake approached them and said, “Hello, my dear rabbits. I have been watching you play and I must say that you are all very talented. I have a proposition for you. How about we have a race? The winner will get a prize.”
The rabbits were excited about the idea of a race and eagerly agreed to the snake’s proposal. The snake then explained the rules of the race. The race would start at the edge of the forest and end at a large tree in the center of the forest. The first rabbit to touch the tree would be declared the winner.
The race began and the rabbits ran as fast as they could. The snake, on the other hand, slithered quickly through the forest, taking shortcuts and cutting corners. The rabbits were unaware of the snake’s tricks and continued to run as fast as they could.
As the rabbits approached the finish line, they were surprised to see the snake already there, coiled around the tree. The snake had won the race by cheating.
The rabbits were angry and felt cheated. They accused the snake of cheating, but the snake simply laughed and said, “I never said that I would run the race. I said that we would have a race. I used my own skills to win. You should have been more careful.”
The rabbits realized that they had been outsmarted by the cunning snake and learned a valuable lesson. They never trusted the snake again and made sure to be more careful in the future.
From that day on, the snake continued to use its cunning and trickery to get what it wanted, but the other animals in the forest were always wary of its ways. The snake had won the race, but it had also lost the trust of the other animals.
