The Greedy Elephant
The Greedy Elephant
Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a giant elephant named Gajendra. Gajendra was known for his greediness and selfishness. He always wanted more and more, without caring about others.
One day, while wandering in the forest, Gajendra saw a huge tree with a lot of fruits. The tree was so tall that Gajendra could not reach the fruits. He tried to pull the tree down with his trunk, but it was too strong. Gajendra was so desperate to get the fruits that he decided to uproot the tree.
He pushed and pulled with all his might, but the tree did not budge. Gajendra was getting tired and frustrated. Suddenly, he heard a voice from the tree. It was a wise old owl who lived in the tree.
The owl said, “Gajendra, why are you so greedy? You have enough food and water in this forest, why do you want more? Don’t you see that you are destroying the home of many animals by uprooting this tree?”
Gajendra realized his mistake and felt ashamed. He apologized to the owl and promised to never be greedy again. He left the tree and continued his journey through the forest, feeling grateful for the wisdom of the owl.
From that day on, Gajendra became a kind and generous elephant. He shared his food and water with other animals and helped them whenever they needed him. The animals of the forest were happy to have him as their friend, and Gajendra was happy to have learned such an important lesson about greed and selfishness.
