The Clever Antelope
The Clever Antelope
Once upon a time, in the heart of the African savannah, there lived a group of animals. Among them was an antelope named Kofi. Kofi was known for his wit and intelligence, which made him popular among the other animals.
One day, a group of lions came to the savannah, and they were hungry. They had been wandering for days without any food, and they were looking for their next meal. The other animals were frightened, and they didn’t know what to do.
Kofi, however, had a plan. He knew that the lions were afraid of fire, so he suggested that they start a fire around their territory to keep the lions away. The other animals were skeptical, but Kofi convinced them that it was their only chance of survival.
So, Kofi and the other animals gathered dry wood and started a fire around their territory. The lions were taken aback by the flames and the smoke, and they retreated to a safe distance. The other animals were relieved, and they thanked Kofi for his quick thinking.
But Kofi wasn’t done yet. He knew that the lions would eventually find a way to get around the fire, so he suggested that they dig a deep trench around their territory. The other animals were impressed by Kofi’s ingenuity, and they quickly got to work.
Days went by, and the lions were still unable to get to the other animals. They tried to cross the trench, but it was too deep for them. They tried to climb over the fire, but it was too high for them. Eventually, the lions gave up and left the savannah in search of easier prey.
The other animals were grateful to Kofi for saving their lives. They realized that his intelligence and quick thinking had saved them from certain death. From that day on, Kofi was known as the clever antelope, and he became a legend among the animals of the savannah.
